There's a rust spot on the rear bumper on the passenger side where the previous owner for some reason tried to lift the car up with the original car jack from the rear bumper.
No doesn't have power brakes there the original setup all the wheels have brake drums front and back.
There is a conversion power brake booster and master cylinder unit for it they go for about $599 last time I checked. 😬
it does have power steering. 🙂
creampuff.... Slang. a vehicle or machine that has been kept in unusually good condition or is very easy to operate:Wow, this old oldsmobile super 88 drives like a dream. What a cream puff!😃👍
The chrome & paint are unbelievable. From the pics it looks straight as an arrow. About the only thing I'd do is sell the BFGs & put some whitewalls on.
I love this car, but it is begging for a set of whitewalls. Raised letter tires were never put on these cars. As set of narrow whitewalls will do wonders for this car.
I was looking for some whitewalls for the car.
American classic radial 2 1/2 inch whitewall 215/75R14.
there not cheap there pretty pricey last time I was looking to buy they had them for $1,400.
They would make the car look a lot nicer.
Car would not have 2 1/2 inch whitewalls. They would be 1 inch narrow whitewalls. My buddy Rob will probably read this and be able to give you some suggestions. He just bought a set for his 63 Starfire. I think he bought them from Discount Tire. They were one size smaller than what came on the car but looked fine. They were radials and a lot less than the Coker Tires.
I think 1" to 1 1/4" white wall is "correct". I put 225 or 235's on my '64 Starfire with the narrower white wall (1" to 1 1/4") and it looks just right. These are generally available from tire shops for a reasonable price. And leave the full hub caps on it.
I just realized that the picture I posted of the car showing the inside of the trunk shows the spare tire and it definitely does have a 1inch whitewall on it.
I never noticed it before till now.
Going to pull it out and see what size it is and maybe switch one of the front tires to see how different it looks with whitewall tires.

Sell those BFGs to a Ford guy. He'll think they'll look great on his '64 Custom! LOL! 😆

And put on a full hub cap. I think it will be a noticeable improvement.
Olds and Chevrolet used 1-1/2" whitewalls in 1964.
If the spare is sized 8.00x14 it's possibly the original, though the whitewall is narrower than the original US Royal 8.50x14 that was still in my first 64 SF, bought from original owner in 1982.
You have no idea how hard I'm fighting myself over this car. The big thing stopping me is not having garage space for it. Yup- whitewalls and I have extra sets of correct 1964 wire wheelcovers and custom deluxe diecast spinners. Picture it with these (actually 63, but the web doesn't seem to have any pictures of 64 version).

Leave the keys in it, in case I have to move it.
These hub caps look like what was on my Starfire when I got it.

you have all four oldsmobile hubcaps?
Are you looking to get rid of them just asking. 🤔
Hommy, I read post #26, here is my $0.02 keep the car and take great care of it, the best you can without a garage. Rust protection, a high quality cover, keep it washed and waxed and D R I V E it...You'll know when to get rid of it from your post it doesn't sound like you are ready.
All this talk about putting the whitewall tires and the different hubcaps just makes me want to just keep the car.
I'm having mix emotions about selling my car no🤔

sugar bear,
I have a garage and it's been kept in storage in the garage ever since I bought the car trust me sugar bear I take really good care of my olds 88.
Hankook sells a 215/75/R14 Optimo with a 1" whitewall, and there's another one called a Vercelli Classic. Check Walmart.com.
I put the Hankook's on my 64 Starfire back in 2019. I think to have been a proper replacement for an ac car on a Starfire, it would've needed to be a 235/75/14. I was not going to pay $200+ per tire.
