I remember a very similar car sitting in a gas station on Northwest hwy. in Arlington Hts. IL. several years ago, wonder if this is the same car? What a beauty!

Gorgeous in Autumn Mist. A definitive 61 color along with Tropic Mist and Twilight Mist.

A Tropic Mist 61 S88 Holiday Sedan was my Uncle Malcolm's first foray into Oldsmobile after someone pulled out in front of his 1951 Buick Roadmaster and destroyed its toothy smile. Even for a well-kept and immaculate Roadie, at ten years old it was totalled. Today that big black Roadie would be restored.

They bought the Olds as a late year leftover in Oct 61 and drove it to Seattle World's Fair 1962. At one time I had a picture of them and the car in front of the Space Needle. A Space Age Oldsmobile with a beloved symbol of the Space Age itself. Perfect.

Can anyone zoom the interior pic enough to see what the front door nameplate says? Super 88, Holiday, or Sport Sedan? S/S may have been Ninety Eight only.

There is a Super 88 emblem on both the dashboard above the glove box and also on the right-hand side of the trunk lid. I can't read the door nameplate.
