I was recently contacted by user creekwill, stating he has a 2711 intake for sale. He told me he was in Austin tx, but I’ve seen him welcome people on here, from Idaho. He also asked me to send money to his sons venmo, which didn’t work, and made me think something was fishy (sons venmo account didn’t show any transaction history) then asked me to send money “ friends and family” to his sons roommates Venmo. I am just looking to be safe before sending money. I told him I have a friend in Austin, who could come check out the intake, and have not gotten a response.

No he wasn't banned until your post, but I've been watching him. Your description of events are red flags for a scammer.

 

Thank you for running a tight ship. My first experience purchasing something was a great experience, I believe it was Sugabear who sold me a shop manual, and I couldn’t have been happier with his business. He shipped it to me and I sent him a check in return, couldn’t believe how helping this community is.

I've had two scam attempts on this forum...they have a few different scams. "I have one...great price...send half the money on friends and family, and pay the rest when you get the part" or "My buddy Bob has one for sale...email him at sneakybob@scammer.com for a great deal". Reported them, and they were banned.

Last summer, I got nailed with one on a different forum. Took me for $400, but I was able to recover the funds because I paid with Visa through Paypal.

Stay vigilant, Gang. Don't let some scumbag in the middle-east take your hard-earned cash.
