Bravada Towing Capacity

For you Bravada owners, what would you estimate the towing capacity would be for one of these vehicles. Specifically, I was looking into a Final 500 model and if it can safely tow my 79 Cutlass on an aluminum (or steel) open trailer I may seal the deal on it.

thx

A Bravada can tow that much weight. Just be aware that the GMT360 platform was considered a mid size truck and therefore built lighter duty than full size trucks.
I have two Bravadas in service right now (02 and 03) and I like them. An 04 is due to have its rear suspention air bags fail and its front diff fail, if they haven't already. Also, hopefully the previous owners changed all the fluids at the recommended intervals. A good forum for info on a Bravada is GMTnation.com. Good luck. ~BOB

Had a '97 Blazer (same car) with towing package. Never towed with it in the first half of its life, but the transmission blew at 40,000 miles anyway (warranty was 36,000 miles ).

I did tow a double axle trailer (probably about 3-4,000 pounds) several times after that with no problems.

That being said, you'll enjoy the process much more with a full-sized tow vehicle, whether a pickup, a van, or a pre-'76 GM B- or C-body.

If you decide to tow with your Bravada I suggest you install an auxiliary transmission cooler if it doesn't already have one.

Thanks all, looks like I'll be keeping my 2014 Ford F-150 after all for towing purposes. I was floored when I was told the "premium" the dealer wanted for the Bravada. I was looking at a Final 500 edition. I estimated the"premium" they estimated to be was about $10,000 over book. Have a nice day trying to get that. No Sale.

Besides, my F-150 will tow 10,000 + so it'll stick around a while longer. Would have been nice to tow my 79 H/O to the 2018 Nats in Hershey, PA with a Bravada but I guess that won't be happening.

Seriously, a premium for a Bravada... Keep the truck, I doubt you or it would be happy with substantial towing.

I'm glad you have a Ford instead of a Chevy or Ram. They might leave you on the side of the road.

FWIW, you are better off not having spent an arm and a leg. Even if it was an Oldsmobile.
