Leaking Line...hmmmmm...stumped

The line that runs to my passenger side front caliper leaks like a siv from the distribution block. The car is a disc brake conversion. We flushed the system when we bought the car and the leak started (go figure). I bought new lines from inline tube and still that sucker leaks at the fitting that feeds into the block on the frame. The old line leaked, so does the new one. It is NOT cross threaded. What gives? Any ideas? Anyone know of some thread sealer that stands up to brake fluid? HELP!

I've seen the blocks themselves leak - if its the one with moving parts in it.
Replace it - leak over!!

Moving parts? Looks solid said for the back that leads out to the rear line.

This is the block and the offending line (you can see my last ditch failed effort all gooped up at the fitting to seal it so the wife could take a hill country cruise today)

There has to be something wrong with the distribution block where the flare on the end of the brake line seats?
The thread on the fitting shouldn't do any sealing on brake lines.
The guy before you probably used some kind of sealer to hide the leak and you flushed it out.
I'd check that and replace the block if it's messed up.

If you've a disc/drum setup, it's a 'distribution block' that has a spring in it that restricts flow to the rear to prevent 'lock-up'
If it's a solid block, they do deteriorate with age.

You posted the pic while I was typing - that looks like a real PIA to replace, especially with headers!!

Got good insurance on the wife?? haha

I am NOT looking forward to it if it has to come out. I actually MIGHT have one I never used. Wish I knew what kit this was from...

Either the flare on the brake line is bad or the seat in the combo valve is bad. Possibly the brass is cracked or cross treaded. It's also possible that there's a metal chip or something preventing the flare from seating. Only disassembly will tell you where the problem is, unfortunately.

Yeah. Going to take the line out again and have a look inside the seat.

According to permalink 1, he already replaced the offending line once. I would concentrate more on the distribution block. Sound right?

Yes. The line is new and the leak is just as offensive

You might be able to get to to stop by doing this. Snug it down then back it off. Do this 3-4 times geting it a little tighter each time. If there's a little bit of imperfection in the seat this will clear it up. It its cracked or something else causing it this will not help. Try it and see what happens. I have stopped a few leakers this way.

Is it the angle of the picture or are those header that close to the distributor block? Seems like it would boil the fluid on a long trip. Brakes would fade.

Oh yes, the brake fluid does get warm. I have header wrap ready to go. My Pontiacs in the past fit just the same with headers. Gotta wrap them up. I am going to dimple the header too. When I got the car it TOUCHED...yeowzas!

I will try the whole tightening up thing. I may play with the flare on the tube...i need to get a fitting wrench...this regular open ended 7/16's is asking to round it and **** me off. I will see if there is a crack in there....it is mirror time, it tough to see up in there and I would like to do as much as I can before the header comes out. My poor wife is getting a crash course in old muscle car world: if it aint broke don't fix it, and if it has not broken, it will. hahaha.

I had to get a set of these to tighten one fitting on my 66 when I recently did a front disc conversion,
