does anyone have a line on the bellows power brake parts?

 

 

This is a new one to me. Has anyone work on these? I turned around the check valve and the brakes work a lot better but they could be improved. What are the options to upgrade this? I can't find a rebuild kit for an f-85 booster anywhere yet

 

Are you looking to convert a manual brake car or are you looking for repair parts?

 

Right now I have this power booster set up I would like to see if I can get it working correctly or upgrade to a more modern power brake system. I have only had the car for about three days and the brake are horrible
Any direction would be great. I have worked on a lot of cars but never this type of system, at least I have a book

I think the bellows cross over to a 1957 ford. I am waiting for confirmation. In the meantime, I fixed most of the issues with adjustment and the biggy was the vacuum check valve was in the wrong direction...not a good thing lol

 

There are possibly several things going on. First, you need to be for sure the wheel cylinders and master cylinder are all in proper order. The master cylinder is harder to find parts for than the manual brake master cylinder. For the booster, Power Brake Exchange can rebuild them if it needs it. Do you have the manual for it? The adjustment is very specific and if off just a little will cause you problems. Our power brake car give me fits till I figured out that the master cylinder was most of my problem.

I do have a manual and I think I am figuring out the under dash adjustment. I don't think the vacuum side is bad it looks like the check valve was reversed. I thought I had a new master cylinder for the car in the spare parts but your dead on its the wrong master cylinder. I will go over the hydraulics as time goes right now I am in a learning stage and trying to understand how to source the harder to find parts. I think this is the same bellow assembly

I adjusted the air release valve. The bushing is shot but I was able to adjusted it enough to get an
improvment. The sysnconazation of the air release and the vacum side is a little touchy. It seems as though I am headed in the right direction. Thank you for your input I need a sounding board sometimes.
