Stiff Brake Pedal, very little brakes

I have replaced my master cylinder and brake booster with http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...m/200619751357 and a Centric master cylinder
CENTRIC 13062024 (130.62024). I have good vacuum to the booster and bench bled the master cylinder and all the wheels were bled as well. I checked for Misalignment of the brake rod and it appears to enter the master cylinder correctly. Any ideas on what I've done wrong?

Thanks,
Randy

Randy,
On the brake pedal arm there are two holes for the rod to attach. Did you install in the bottom or top hole? ( Top is correct for manual and bottom for power.)

Check the bore size of the new Centric master cylinder against the cylinder that was in the car .

Centric has a penchant for being wrong with their applications at times .

A master cylinder bore that is larger than it should be , will cause a hard pedal .

Thanks Tom, the rod is connected to the correct hole so that's not it. I will try to trouble shoot the booster today. Between the two new parts, I'm not sure what it is.

Stiff pedal sounds like a possible booster issue to me.

That's what I think. I've sent a note to Motorcity (sells Inline Tube products) to see if they will send me a new one. I'll post my eventual outcome.

Thanks Guys!

Does the pedal feel the same with vacuum connected and disconnected from the booster with the engine running?

Thanks Eric, in the process of putting the old ugly one back in. (I'll paint it first)

Well my new Inline Tube brake booster is a bust. I purchased it in March so wish me luck on the return. We'll see what kind of customer service they provide first hand. I am attaching pictures of my newly installed engine and my homemade cadmium plate job I did on my old booster. (Just red, green and gold paint lying around and a clear coat). It will have to do. At least it works. Such a pain to remove and install though. I somewhat anticipated this so I previously put a large diameter nut on the lower left hand booster stud so take up much of the thread length making it easier to install and remove the nut from hell.

Thanks again for all the help!
Randy
