Power Brakes
Power Brakes
I got the treadle vac hooked up and the brakes bled on my 54 yesterday. They are working great and the weather is nice enough in Texas that I am going for a short drive today with the top down. As a result of the treadle vac rebuild, there are a couple things I am going to recommend. The first is the company that rebuilt my treadle vac. It is:
Karps Power Brake
Upland, CA
909-985-0800
Jeff Watts
They did an excellent job. Jeff has been doing these things for over 20 years and says he has never had one come back. Time will tell but at this point I am very pleased. He put a stainless sleeve in the master cylinder. Not cheap but I don't look for the low bidder on brakes
The other thing was a little pressure bleeder I bought on ebay. It looks like one of the pump type oil cans with a clear canister on it. You put the hose on the wheel cylinder after you have opened the valve and it pushed the fluid from the wheel cylinder all the way to the master cylinder. It only cost $16.50 plus $6.50 shipping and sure make lifer easier bleeding the brakes. The link below will take you to the picture.
