Power Brake Booster Help

Hi,

I am in the process of finally starting to put our 1966 442 back together and am currently working on the brake system. The car was converted to front disc brakes at sometime in its life and I am trying to identify what the parts originally were from. So far, I know the calipers are 69-72 GM single piston from a lot of different applications. The master cylinder is 68-71 GM with a lot of applications also including 68-71 442. The plunger size is 1.125 and the port sizes are 1/2 by 20 and 9/16 by 18. The booster has me baffled. It is a Delco Moraine with the numbers 8519 on one of the tabs and 114 for what I believe is the date code. It is an 11 inch booster. Does anyone know the original application for this booster? Your help would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Larry

A photo would help. I strongly suspect it is a 1967-1972 A-body booster, however. The dual-circuit M/C requires the shorter pushrod of this booster. In 1967, Olds used a single notched valve cover on the driver's side of BBO motors to clear this larger booster.

Pictures

I tried to post some pictures, but at the end of the upload period, I was told I had a security token missing. What??????? Thanks to Larry & Joe who both indicated it was a 67-72 "A" body booster. It fit with the old stock 400 and hope it fits with the taller aftermarket covers on the 455. How do I get pictures to post on this site from my computer? Thanks. Larry

2 door hardtop

Hi,

Thanks for the question. My car is a Lucrene Blue with a painted white top car purchased in Bend Oregon in December 1998. I am finally in the slow process of restoring it.car 005.jpg

442 LH Original.jpg Here is a before taken in 2002 and another taken about 1 1/2 years ago when I brought it home from getting painted. Sadly, the paint job is awful and I need to have it redone. I guess you get what you pay for. I did all the frame work and had a friend do the paint and body work. Big mistake! LOL. Thanks for asking. Larry
