Parking Brake Rubber Stop

I've searched without any success so far. I have a '68 cutlass and I need to replace the rubber stop on the parking brake mechanism. It's the round piece of rubber that the foot lever hits when its released. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike

That rubber stop is held on by a large rivet that is staked to the parking brake assembly.

It looks to be a very thick piece of rubber.

Three choices:

1. Drill out the rivet, and find a piece of rubber hose, then tack weld it back in.

2. Find a piece of rubber hose, slit it lengthwise, and use some RTV to hold it on.

3. Replace the assembly with a better one with the stop in place.

I am sure that this part is not reproduced.

Yeah, it is fairly thick. I've looked all over....even in Chevelle sites with no luck. I'm surprised that no one reproduces it. Mine was worn completely flat on one side. I guess I'll try to fab something up. Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, no. The piece I'm looking for is a round, donut shaped piece about .75" thick and 1.25" in diameter with a hole in the middle.

Again, of all the things not reproduced.....!

Thanks, for looking.

Only thing I've found on it is for 1964 - 65

4.603 ― BUMPER, PARKING BRAKE PEDAL 1 3846500 1964-65 ALL
So the group # is 4.603 and we just need the latest part # that superceded 3846500

I have a E-Brake assembly from a 69 Cutlass that I'll offer to sell you. The rubber pad on this one is more flat where the arm comes in contact with it. I would think the 69 should interchange with the 68 and maybe there was a design change for 69. But I can't say for certain. $25 plus shipping if you are interested.

Brian,
Thank you for the offer. Let me see what I can come up with for my existing PB unit first. I will try to post a pic and maybe you could let me know if it is at all similar.
Thanks, Mike
