Original brake shoes?

I just pulled these off my '72 Supreme and was wondering if they are the original shoes? I ask because of the primer color paint. Also, there was a number on one of them...dunno if that means anything.

I agree. Not nearly enough rust or aging for them to be original.

Perhaps not, but I do know that a PO had drained the rear chamber of the master cylinder...(poor man's line lock if you will.) He had it for about 7 years before he sold it to the guy I bought it from. Add that to the fact that there was only 98,000 on the clock when I bought it, and it is plausible that they could be the originals, isn't it? And why the primer color?

EDIT: I guess they weren't the originals...saw these on ebay...lots of numbers and identifying markings.
