Master cylinder Rebuild kits

What are you guys using for rebuild kits and where at, I'm unable to find MC rebuild kit for a 5460465 MC (1" DIA) for my 68, manual drum brake. I checked local parts store and on line but nothing, shouldn't be that hard to source out but I haven't found.

I'm running one of John's kits in my 1970 Olds water pump and master cylinder now.

Kevin, make sure you get the right kit on your first try. There are two. One for a deep cylinder, one for shallow. Mine, below, is the deep version.

Oh great, two versions, deep and shallow bore. Do you measure the stack up, both power piston and springs or the actual bore of the MC? Where did you get your kit?

Measure the bore. I was never able to get the correct kit. Inline Tube was the only source for the correct bore depth that I could find, and they are on indefinite backorder. A vendor that posts here occasionally sent me the wrong version after several back and forth emails. He said he understood and had the correct version. Ultimately he can't get it/doesn't have it...at least as of this time last year.

Its crazy, I can't get brakes on this car. I have gone thru 5 master cylinders.

The 1st one was from inline tube, wouldn't bench bleed.
The 2nd one was a rebuilt unit and I had brakes for 3 weeks, then it failed.
The 3rd one, warranty replacement for no. 2 wouldn't bench bleed.
The 4th one, the warranty for the warranty it bench bleed but had very soft pedal.
The 5th, band new, same as the 4th one, bench bleeds but still soft pedal.

The 4th and 5th act the same, they bench bleed out but its very strange, the rear piston never really gets all the air out. I use those clear tubes and that go back into the reservoir, there always small bubbles. On the car, same thing, vacuum bleed, looks good. Pump the brakes, soft pedal, vacuum bleed and guess what, more air. Did the method with the wife in the car, open, closed, went thru 20oz of fluid, same thing, still small amounts of fine bubbles. Its almost as if the seal are bad and sucking air back thru the back of the MC which doesn't seem possible. No leaks can be found. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

If your interested, I have rebuilt stainless steel sleeve Drum masters available.
They are original with code CT, correct for your application.
Thanks
