Master cyl-prop valve rebuild

Hi Guys- i was able to find some guys to rebuild the original water pump and starter on my 67 442 and they turned out great. Wondering if there is anyone recommended who is able to recondition the original master cylinder and proportioning valve? Thanks for any help

Check RockAuto for master cylinder rebuild kits. A little bit of rust in the bore can be cleaned up with one of those brake cylinder bore hones from the parts store. Rebuilding a master cylinder is extremely easy. Remove the c-clip, knock out the pistons, push in new pistons, install c-clip.

There's a decent chance that the internals from a replacement prop valve will slip right into an original prop valve. They just use a brass block because it's quicker/cheaper to machine than to make and machine a casting. Never taken one apart but it can't be too bad.

It’s a very real possibility that I’m stupid, but I can’t seem to find a proportioning valve rebuild kit anywhere. Any leads? Looks like there might be some master cylinder rebuild kits though

A 1967 442 didn't come from the factory with a "prop valve", not even with disc brakes. Post a photo of the thing you are talking about.

I suppose distribution block would be a more correct term

Well since it is neither "proportioning" nor "valve"...
