Hubs that don't exist?!?!
Hey y'all!
Where can I find hubs for a '67 cutlass?
So here is my first problem posted to the forum. Work that had been done before the car was mine has thrown me for a loop! My cutty has drum brakes all the way arround. Is this normal or standard for a Cutlass of this year?
Anyway, heard some grinding on the front left side and figured it was the bearings and I was right. What I didn't know is that the drums on the front of this car were not the original drums! they don fit flush against the hubs due to the small unthreaded section of the studs by the hubs. this caused the hubs and drums and bearings to wear and now I need to replace all three components on both sides.
Here is the major issue... I found drums and bearings, NO PROBLEM! But the hubs for a '67 cutlass, "apparently" do not exist! I have scrounged the internet, ebay, and craigslist with out success.
Please help.

Hubs are interchangeable from 64-72. The earlier ones used the larger knurl as yours but you can drill the drums to clear if needed. As long as the center register is tight on the hub you will be fine.
PS since you need to replace it all anyway why not ad disc brakes now? 69-72 setups off A-bodies, 69-74 Nova, 69 Camaro, all use the same setup. With as any people upgrading to big brakes you can find the take off stuff pretty common. 67 68 stuff works too but much more expensive and hard to find.

Yep, I had the same thing. Bearing race welded itself to the spindle and hub. Your only option is a junkyard or another member here. I got mine from therobski on here. Like Richard said, a lot of people are upgrading to disks or swapping stock disks to large disks. If you stick with the drums, I would much rather get the hubs from someone who is swapping them out than from a junkyard where you don't know that they've moved in 20 years.

OK this brings up a new question? When I am looking at disk conversion kits, am I looking for standard or power kits? I dont have ABS on this car (obviously) and a huge booster. Does this signify standard/manual breaks?

Not sure of your question. There is no such thing as ABS on a 1967 Olds. If you have a big power booster, you have power brakes, otherwise you have manual. What kit you want is up to you. Typically the power kits include the power booster.

Olds used drums/hubs that didn't separate. Novas, etc. did separate; you can use up to 1974 Nova/Apollo/Omega hubs with the removable type drum, or as noted above find 64-72 A body stuff. BTW, the 66 used a felt seal and not interchangeable with later seals, so you might want to use later hubs with the rubber seals.
