Help identifying pair of rotors

Hello folks,

See Facebook link below. Person in New Zealand has them. They don’t look like Kelsey-Hayes. Said they came off a 1966 Starfire and are unused. He is to send a part number my way. Any thoughts on what they are and what they may fit? Thanks!

John

You might be able to get him to measure the bearing diameters. I have some worn out ones that I could measure for you.

Thanks, that would be helpful. He says they are 11” raptors. I have an old set of 1967-68 Kelsey-Hayes rotors that are too thin, but can get bearing and race measurements off of them. If you have other bearing/race measurements for earlier or later years, that would be helpful.

I will ask him for these details when he gets back to me. Again, thanks for your help.

1966 NEVER had Front Disc Brakes from any factory, which means the car undoubtedly has had a Disc Brake conversion--- which used the 1971 - 1976 Hub & Rotor Assembly, very commonly available, although ONLY Chineseum......

The 1967 - 1968 was a Four (4) Piston Caliper car that utilized a Hub & Rotor Assembly that fit
1967 - 1968 Oldsmobile Full Size --- Exclusively and ONLY...,
( I would have to look in my building, which is five (5) towns away to see if I have one last pair of
*** N.O.S. *** Hub & Rotor Assemblies for the 1967 - 1968.... I don't recall whether I sold them or have one last pair......) I do have those *** N.O.S. *** Asbestos Front Disc Brake Pads !!!
=== CRITICAL === You don't want to rip up these Rotors to smithereens.....

Always best to simply call me, if interested, 516 - 485 - 1935, Craig......

And --- From New Zealand???
A) Watch for scam --- you will never see parts or your money...
B) Shipping to and from New Zealand and Australia right now is a SERIOUS problem ----
You will be spending a ton , right now , to get them.....
C) Like you are noticing, you have a 99.9% chance that they are NOT correct....
D) The "Unobtanium " 1969 - 1970 is "close" but VERY Different.....

Or,, just simply call me, and I will check...... Craig.....

Thanks, Craig. You provided me useful inf. BTW, I purchased a set of 67-68 rotors off you a couple years back, and at the time, you said that was your last set, so no need to run out and go look.

Just curious what these are and if could be of use to someone. Will add checking the lug pattern measurements on these.

Delmont1968,
Uh Oh, I am afraid to ask --- what happened to the pair you got from me ?!?!?

Why, then, would you need --- another --- pair ??? Do you have two (2) of those cars ???

I have BOUGHT many Brake Drums and Rotors & Hub & Rotors in the last 5 or 6 years, so I might have one pair.... I must confess I am 100 % not sure.... I can look, for sure.....
(I haven't even gotten one (1) request for them (not surprising, of course !!!) in the last 5 or 6 years, which is why I am truly not sure, if I have any)..... Call me.... Craig.....

Nothing wrong with what you sold me and don’t need new ones. Just saw these and the approximate year they were for. Noticed they did not look right for Kelsey-Hayes rotors, so thought I would post to see if others might have an idea. Based on what I have so far, I am sure they are not K-H rotors, so are most likely either for a 69-70 setup, or a 71+ set up.

Delmont1968,
Okay !! If you need me, don't hesitate to call....
Next time, I am in my building, I will look, to see, if I do have any... (It pays to know, rather than to not be positive....)
Happy Holidays, Craig......

The rotors in that FB ad look like A-body rotors. The "64-74" nomenclature is often used to mean 64-72 A-body and 68-74 X-body (and 67-69 F-body), which all use the same rotors. They are NOT B-body rotors.

And, if that is all they are, you can buy them (though Chineseum ONLY) for $ 41.79 each....
Shipping from Australia / New Zealand will be way more than that, by itself....

Thanks Joe. The thing that seems odd is that he says the are 290 mm (about 11.50”) in diameter. I thought the A-body rotors were smaller then that.

A-body rotors are 10.75". B-body rotors are about 11.9". Whatever they are, they are NOT B-body rotors.
