Front brake line routing

Looking to correct my front brakes on my ‘68 442. When I upgraded to 1 7/8” headers I think nstalled new front brake line from Inline Tube. As you can see in the pics the line threads in between header tubes and is too close for my comfort. Also, proportioning valve needs to be moved as well to give more clearance. Is there a right way to do this? Should I route to firewall behind engine or fit snugly to cross member and under motor? Don’t see easy way to get around the headers due to larger size. I’m pulling motor to touch up a few things so now is the time to get this squared away.
