Drum interchange

Can anyone tell me if and what drums from other GM or Olds applications will interchange with the drums from a 1955 88?

Thanks!

You might try checking Kanter's website and see if they list the same part number if they carry them. Maybe Pontiac or Buick. Just a thought.

I found a 57 Olds at my local junk yard, so the drums on it will not fit my 55?

Maybe this will help someone else out who needs front drums for a 55.

57 front drums will fit on a 55 however, you have to use the outside race and bearing from the 55 in the 57 drum and you need both sets of washers that have the tongue for the spindles.
The 57 spindles are a little bigger in the outer diameter than the 55 but if you use the outer race and bearing from the 55 it will fit the drum and the spindle and, they fit a little deeper into the drum so you need the washers from the 57 and 55 in order the get the castle nut up to fit the hole for the cotter pin. You will also need the 57 dust covers as well.

I do not know if the 57 drums will interchange with other years that interchange with the 55 but, I suspect they would.

I found two front drums from a 57 at my local junkyard, they let me pull one and take it home to be sure it fit, it did so I went back and got both for $40 and had them
turned for $16.
