Drum hubs on disc brake spindles??

Can you run a factory drum brake hub on disc brake spindles? This would be on a '72 442 convertible.

If your question is, do the drum hubs fit disk spindles, simply check the bearing part numbers - you will find that they are the same. One popular disk brake upgrade for A-body cars is to put 1960s Corvette 12" rotors on the drum brake hubs. You need to modify the caliper brackets with tabs to move the calipers outboard 1/2". Here's how to do it.

Joe:
You guessed right, I'm looking into CBB options (cheap, big brake). I knew the bearing part numbers were the same for the drum hubs and disc rotors, but didn't understand what caused the track width changes. The factory disc brake set-up pushes the track width out about 1/2" wider than drum brakes on each side. The difference must be in the disc brake rotor/hub and not in the spindles. BTW - thanks for the link.

Correct. This photo is from the link I provided. Drum hub is on the left.
