I have a 70 cutlass disk brake car,and I want to put the disk brakes on a 72 cutlass drum car.Is there supposed to be a proportioning valve below the master cyl like Chevelles have.I do not see one on the 70,just lines from the master cyl down to the splitter block on the frame? I know the master is different between them,is the frame splitter the same? Should there be a proportioning valve somewhere? Thanks

 

All 1967-1970 disk brake cars used the metering valve below the master cylinder and the same distribution block as the drum cars. Starting in 1971, GM combined the proportioning function with the distribution block, callling that a combination valve. I suspect that your 1970 donor may have been converted at some time previously. Check for a combo valve on the frame instead of the regular distribution block.
