Brake lines?
Brake lines?
I want to replace the front brake lines on my 70 442.
What manufacture makes the best lines? Stainless or Steel?
Has anyone had any good/bad experience with any suppliers/
Thanks,
Brian

I second that. Inline tube has preformed lines in stainless or OEM steel. All the lines I've received for my 73 are top notch. They classify them as concourse grade. It's correct right down to the color of the fittings. Only thing I had to do was straighten to length once I got them. They will ship them with a strategic bend that will have to be unbent to reach full length. But I got all the lines in a kit. The front lines didn't require that as they were short. They also have all the clips required. www.inlinetube.com
Inline tube has good products, I am completely satisfied with their products.
But,
When I was putting discs on the front of the 66 I ordered lines, hold off valve, master cylinder, etc.for a 67 Cutlass. For the 67 442 the factory put a different right front line than they used on the Cutlass. When I ordered the stainless line set I went into great detail telling them I wanted the Cutlass line set not the 442 lines. I covered this several times during the conversation. So naturally they sent the wrong one, they sent the 442 line. When I called them they told me to ship the incorrect line which they had sent me at MY EXPENSE back to them and after they receive it they will send me the correct one. They made the mistake and I had to pay for it.
I would still do business with them 'cause their products are good and prices are fair, but there is some strong resentment here for the unfair treatment.
I had been warned about their arrogance and customer relations before I called them, so I knew. I was also warned to " NOT TELL THEM I HAD A 66 OR THEY WOULD NOT SELL ME THE 67 STUFF", they are that hard to do business with.
Good luck,
Mike
