Brake fluid

Getting ready to add the brake fluid to my 1962 Starfire brake system. I had the original booster ohauled and replaced the single master cylinder with a dual.
I understand that dot 3 should be used, but since dot 5.1 has the same base as dot 3 and over a 100 degree higher boiling, can I use 5.1.
oh yes, drums in the fear, discs in front.

Because my car sits for up to five months in the winter, I use DOT-5 silicone brake fluid in my Olds, preferring to sacrifice a little ultimate performance for practicality of storage due to its non-hygroscopic nature.

DOT 5.1 is perfectly fine. I would recommend it.
