Best bang for the buck parts

Hey all, I’m collecting parts to convert my 68 Cutlass from four wheel drum brakes to a front disk rear drum setup. What is everyone’s opinions on the quality of different brake manufacturers? CCP, Right Stuff, JEGS house brand? Experiences - good, bad or indifferent? I’m overwhelmed by so many parts to choose from even for attempting a stock setup. Thanks for your inputs!

I used to be a huge Right Stuff fan, but i think they may have sold. Basically, everything is junk these days. Don't be surprised if you have to "fix" some fitment issues.
You can always get any A-body discs and spindles from someone "upgrading". They'll uncover the jets on the big end from 121mph.

Right on. I got pretty much everything for the conversion except for the brake booster and master cylinder. I might go with a CPP brake booster from OPGI and couple that with an AC Delco Pro master cylinder (part # 18M18787) for those parts. I'm hoping the plating on the brake booster can resist brake fluid.

Drum spindles can be machined fairly cheap to accept disc brake brackets. Thats the way i do it.

So I'll weigh on this - if you're going to get an aftermarket Delco Morraine booster (i.e. a Chinese knock-off), get a NAPA unit from your local store - it's marked as a 'remanufactured' part in their site and on the packaging, but it's a new Chinese booster in black (instead of the gold finish) - reason? Lifetime warranty...

for MC I went with a Baer Brakes 1-1/8 bore unit - a bit pricey but very nice. the 2 side-port lines that connect to it are an extra cost kit from them but they're made for that MC so there's no ill-fitting connections at those mounts.

Thanks all, I do plan to re-use my original drum spindles and shave that upper mounting boss off as needed. I'll check out that Napa brake booster unit as well!
