Arrow $225 for rear disc brake conversion!

Hey guys, Jegs has the Right Stuff rear disc brake conversion kit with e-brake for sale at $225! That's a huge deal, so I bought one. It's worth taking a look since these normally cost about $375. May be a pricing error on their site, so better act quick: https://www.jegs.com/i/Right-Stuff/965/AFXRD01/10002/-1

Also, if you use the promo code SAVENOW, it will take $20 off the price.

I saw this note on the site, so this is a pre-order that is discounted nicely, if you can wait for it:
  • Ships directly from the manufacturer on 06/06/19

I prefer my drums and would rather spend the money on other things. It does sound like a great deal though.

Hope you have better luck than I did with the one I installed on a prior '72 Skylark - it showed up with some of the wrong brackets and 1 line damaged from shipping causing a 2 week delay in the install. That wasn't a huge issue, but even after getting the correct parts, the brake pads rattled over every bump (the supplied rattle clips wouldn't stay snugly in place) and one of the calipers seized up after about 3k miles.

Won't do that kit again on my '72 Cutlass.

Installation went better than expected :)

Here are some photos of the parts in the kit. For the most part, everything installed perfectly, and it drives great. Having 4 wheel discs really helps with firmness in the pedal, I didn't realize how the older drum brakes affected the feel in the brake lines, even when properly bled.

The ONLY mod needed for this kit was my axle hubs were a bit too large to match the discs, so I had to grind off a 1/16" around each hub (15 min each). Was well worth it. Not sure if the discs were too small or if the axle hubs on my '68 HD 31 spline rear are a little too large (my car is a 67, so not stock). None the less, worked great for me, and I am definitely not complaining at $225 for the whole kit

Thanks for the update. I've had good luck with Right Stuff. The place I won't do business with is CPP. Bought a front disc kit and found the front hoses were metric. They also forgot to send the calipers. Ended up buying calipers and hoses from Inline Tube which fit great just like original.
