I just received a 1953 oldsmobile super 88 rocket and it has the power brake option. Do I rebuild it or go to manual or find a new option for brakes

 

If you are not going to make a street rod out of the car, I would recommend rebuilding the treadlevac. I know there are some reputable rebuilders out there. I used Karp's Power Break Service for my 54. Not cheap but he did an outstanding job. In my opinion the standard brakes leave a lot to be desired.
