Speed nuts

Where is the best place to get good quality speed nuts for emblems and so forth? The ones you get from Lowes or places like it are thin and cheap.

Chuck kudos to you for steering clear from the big box houses of chineasium land fill junk for any type of automotive hardware/fasteners.
As you've found its the cheapest weakest crap available. If grade negative 8 exists this is where you'll find it! ALL JUNK.

All a person needs to do is google USA made X and keep digging till you find USA quality and give the money to a USA business.

Fusick might have them. Their search feature suxazz. And its likely china and twice the price....then add $40 for shipping a 12oz package.

Yeah, I dunno - we're only talking about speed nuts, not major component fastening stuff - I got essentially identical speed nuts at Lowes for my '72 hood louvers - they're perfect replacements and with the hood pad in place, completely hidden from view anyway, sooooo....

And of course Lowes, Depot and Ace all have grade 8 hardware in numerous configurations for many other uses where an OEM resto appearance isn't the goal.

Not knocking our resto vendors or anyone actually seeking resto-quality replacement hardware - just saying it's oft times easier to keep it simple for something relatively minor that isn't being judged for its appearance in the end.

I haven't had much luck with the nuts from Lowes. Too flimsy.
