What sealant to use to reseal plastic piece above heater box?

I'm noticing water leaking down on the passenger side floor under the dash sometimes when it rains. I'm pretty sure I didn't reseal the top plastic piece correctly. What sealant is supposed to be used? It's the plastic piece under the leaf catcher grill.

While there may be something specific originally used, 3M Body Shutz rubberized is a safe bet. Some quart cans have a dauber I think. Factory they used a spray applicator.

I don't know why some of it is $50/quart and some is $300 /quart. Widely available, even Summit sells it. Good luck
