W-25 Twist locks on steel hood

Any reason this couldn't be done with a little cutting and welding? Don't want the expense of a new hood, but think this would be a cool touch on the OEM hood. Anyone ever try this?

lookup Fitzie's fab on YouTube he does it.Also builds oai hood scopes on vista cruiser steel hood.

although it may be blasphemy , another thought with a lot less fabrication would be to use Ford Mustang/ Torino twist locks from like 1970 these just require a hole cut as the cup provides the seat just thinking out loud

That exact thought crossed my mind....still may be on the table. I'm certainly not worried about keeping a '72 Supreme factory original.
