I just saw a repair panel in a Ch****le catalogue that shows a piece that the glass sits in about 4 inches wide and pillar to pillar 97.00...Chevrolet Enthusiast Inc. 1-866-712-0890...this is up North so try your local supplier

JR,

I consolidated these two posts to help avoid confusion.

HAMM36 repaired his with (I think) a cut-out piece of metal and filled and painted it. Hopefully he will chime in...
If a patch panel is available it would be the easier way to go.
Since the windshield will need to come out, there may be more rust under that (hate to tell you that...)

There is always more rust than you think. How well do you want to fix it? Apply some tinting to the lower windshield or get one of those carpeted dash covers.
Turn up the radio loud enough and rod knocks go away too.

There have been a couple of threads on dash rust repair lately.

Not sure where you're located but I'd go with this before the Chevelle dash. It'll match up better. From ROP forums....

This is a section of body cut from an 68 442 hardtop. It is the lower windshield section cut from the edge of the front cowl through the part that the windshield sits on and the whole metal dash frame on the inside. Cut from pillar to pillar. One piece.

Replace this often very rusty spot with this solid piece.
442 numbers happen to be still attached to it if anyone cares.

This MUST be picked up in Connecticut--$400

Nice. Good job. They're not easy to find unrusted. Have you seen the piece? If not have them take pics so you can see that it's not rusted at all.
