I have a 69 cutlass supreme and trying to get some information on how about I would go about fixing the broken stud that holds on the chrome trim I'm assuming some kind of welding stud gun just not sure what the stud would be called or if I would have to fabricate from scratch ?

This is the correct way but it needs bare metal to complete the circuit. If it’s painted the screws are better.
