What to do...what to do??

Good morning 🌞 all ye Oldsmobilers!
I need opinions/advice on something...
I am planning on putting fender scripts on my 72 Supreme today and am on the fence about which way to go. I bought a set of aftermarket scripts and I was going to cut the posts off and use 3m double sided emblem tape to put them on. The problem is if I do that, the tape will be visible through the script. I tried trimming the tape so it wouldnt be visible through the script, but that's a tedious process.
My other option is to drill holes and install them as intended, but then I have to make sure the holes are in the right position so my scripts are straight.

So what would you do?
Thanks,
Dave

They 'should' be installed via holes in the quarter panels. That is how they should be installed.
If you're not going to drill holes in your quarter panel, I would apply 100% clear silicone to the back edges of the scripts. "Tape" the scripts in place, allow to set for a minimum of x24 hours. Clear 100% silicone won't (necessarily) be very visible. This method should last for a considerable time.
Other option (more permanent) - use 3M™ Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200 - they won't go anywhere for a long, long time.
