Vent window issues

So the right hand vent window on my 65 delta 88 does not close all the way, it opens just fine, but when you try to close it it almost feels like something is stripped, because it always stays just a crack open. It always whistles and blows air into the cabin which I hate. Has anyone come up with some quick fixes they would suggest that don't involve taking the door apart? I bought some vent window locks thinking they would keep the door pressed tight against the weatherstripping but I misinterpreted the way that you install them.

The crank mechanism sometimes do fail and gears strip. Also vandalism/prying will damage the mechanism. Only fix would be to replace it and door panel at the least needs to come off.
