On a 69 I call it the lower trunk lid trim. Lower lip trim on a 68.

If you examine rear shots of a 69 vert & coupe...I dont think there is a different width between the tail lights so the trim should be the same between coupe & vert. This is a question for you 69ers.

I'm always on the hunt for 68 trunk lip trim in mint or NOS shape.

Correct. The bumper is the same, so obviously the distance between the taillights is the same. That particular part is called a Molding Package, P/N 8700933, and was used on every 35xx, 36xx, and 42xx cars except wagons in the 1969 model year. Basically, that's all 1969 A-body cars except F-85 (which got no trim) and 442 (which got the thin stainless trim).

No one reproduces it, if that is what you're asking. Since every Cutlass has been cloned into a Faux Four Two these days, there should be a few used examples lying around collecting dust.
