Sealing compound removal

Hi all! I re-doing a 1957 super 88. i've removed the surround moulds from the rear windows and would love some advice on the removing of the sealing adhesive still stuck on and inside of the stainless molding. is there something I can soak them in or something that will dissolve it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. wfg4u@aol.com.

Wd40 is good for dissolving small amounts. You would need to carefully scrape off the bigger globs with a plastic or wood scraper to not scratch the moldings and then wipe down with the wd40.

Lacquer thinner may soften it, but very flammable.
