i cant seem to tell by the pics...does the skin go over the top edge all the way to the trunklid?

 

No, the quarter skins do not go past the line at the top of the quarter panel.

Maybe you could start by telling us what car model we're talking about? The factory quarters (and the replacement full quarters that are only available for the 70-72 Supreme convertibles) go all the way to the trunk gutter so that there is no visible seam. The Chinesium aftermarket quarters unfortunately do not go past the peak of the quarter, requiring significant additional labor to look right. I would always use a good used OEM panel that a repop for this reason.

 

im working on a 71 "s" skins are all ive found...it needs full quarters..it has some rust behind each rear tire.but the bigger issue is the fact my mom got rear ended sometime in the mid 70s. and the backs of the qtrs and trunk lid are full of mud...
