need some advice

I have a full floor pan to replace mine (70 olds 442) the very back right were the seat belts bolt in there is a tiny spot were rust pitted through the pan.

My question is should I cut that remaining section of the floor out and drop in the new pan, or cut the new pan and fix it to that section and fix the spot that's rusted through?

Since you have the full pan, why not just replace the whol thing? I would think it would be easier than patching and probably look better when its done.
