Losing wood...
Losing wood...
If anyone knows how to stop the loss of "wood" trim I'd sure like to know about it. I have some rust-related loss I'll address in another question, but what can I use to stop the "sticker" from un-sticking? It's only happening near the lower chrome belt line just behind the front wheel openings.

The vinyl shrunk and pulled away from that lower area and spanned instead of followed the contour just below the body line The surface wasn't prepped right, vinyl wasn't applied correctly, applied at the wrong temperature, encounter with edge of chain link fence.
If it's applied right it sticks forever and will take the paint off with it when you try to get it off.
You aren't going to do much other than seal it up with something like Rob said to keep it from getting worse. Probably a bubble under that line all the way around the car. You may be able to take a hair dryer and soften it up if it isn't too brittle and push it down but it would probably pop right back soon as it cools unless the adhesive is still tacky.

Getting back on topic, shelf paper is NOT UV-stable and will not last very long on the sides of the car. Note that the factory woodgrain vinyl is much thicker and has a clear layer over the woodgrain.
