Exclamation Factory Seam Sealant

Hey guys! So I replaced my cowl sides since they had rusted out. Now I am trying to get that seam sealant look back. How do I apply it? Is there a technique to make it smooth and look factory? Hint: Don't apply it with your fingers, haha. It looks VERY textured now. Any recommendations?

Use a narrow brush to apply the sealer then go back it over it with the brush dipped in
lacquer thinner ,go back and forth a little bit to smooth it out ,don't be afraid to use a little bit more lacquer thinner it will dry evaporate .Good luck
