Just wondering if it would be better to paint the firewall, inside tubs and fenders black or the same color as the paint on the car. Just want input pro's and con's if any. Thanks

 

I like a nice satin black then dress it up as needed like a new clamps and hose's ,clips,
stickers and labels some chrome if needed or wanted .

 

What about block, same color as body paint

 

It wouldn't be better, it'll just look like a Mopar.

 

No matter if it is a stocker or a aluminum headed victor topped set up I like the stock colors . Some go with black because it hides grease and oil

 

I like a factory appearing engine compartment for the most part. Even tastfull deviations can look good too, like painting the engine body color.

I probably wouldn't like an all black engine compartment. A little chrome could set that off though.

 

For sure you have to dress up the engine. Looking at polishing aluminium valve covers, can you also do the intake?

 

Yes you can. It just takes a lot of time and patience. I've done a few. It's my opinion you should paint the engine compartment exactly to your taste. Unless you are planning to compete in car shows or sell it. Here's some engine compartment photos I've compiled over the years, maybe they can help you decide. Those are some sexy looking engines. I noticed the forth last photo, the gold block.Where did you get those Rocket Racing valve covers?My car, I don't ever plan on selling it.She will be just a cruiser,take her to the odd car shows. It has been in our family since new and I am going to keep it this way. I was looking for body parts and one wrecker told me, that's a dinosaur.Going to be that hard to find parts, well up here it is.As for block wise, I am going with the same color as the car,the rest of the inside black, gloss or flat I don't know yet.And can't forget about the bling bling, chrome her up
