I just got home from work and was handed my ornament. Apparently the 3 yo was having too much fun with it.

I took off the rest of it and the spring is still there and there is a wire hanging off of the ornament itself. I've attached a picture but as this is the first time doing that I'm not sure how that will work out.

I'm wondering if anyone has a picture or can describe how these parts are suppose to be attached?

 

Feed the wire through the middle of the spring, compress it, and bend the wire over the bottom coil of the spring to keep it compressed.

 

Well that piece of wire didn't hold up. Do you think a heavy duty paper clip would hold up?
