Hi esteemed Olds forum, getting ready to remove body off frame, what is the correct way to brace the body before lifting, I would like to still be able to work on floor after braced, if that makes any sense?
I made braces out of 1-1/2" 1/8" steel angle that spanned the door openings; they bolted to the door striker on the quarter panel and the upper fender bolt. I tacked welded additional 1-1/2" angle across the body at the back seat. Here's a pic:

These are the body braces.
I leveled the frame and used 4x4 wood blocks to lift the body above the frame. This kept the body from twisting when I replaced the floorpan.
I bolted the 4x4's to the frame rails with lag bolts and large washers to keep them from toppling over.

When I do something intensive on a body, I go across the door openings, then do an "X" from front left jamb, to rear right jamb. And visa versa. But it does make it a little difficult to get inside the car. Not impossible.
