71 cutlass quarter panel issues

so...have been piecing together parts for the new front end, all while avoiding how to handle the A$$ end of this build. i received this car with the quarters in as is shape. do i need to drill spot welds and take the rest of the old flange they cut and left from the old panel? i can easily do that and then pinch the flange and reweld the the new bottom in. what should i do for the other side where they cut the inner and outer structure of the rear? as in the bottom flange portion that i would spot weld the new quarter too. would appreciate the help and advice
