'70 442 Grille Assembly

I just bought new plastic grille assembly. Headlights and center pieces.

What type of bolts + (clips ?) connect the 3 at the botom to tie the assembly together?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info. Any idea where I can get them and did they have nuts on the bottom?
Inline Tube sells the complete (clips everything) grille / headlight bolt kit, it came with the big phillips head screws (3) you spoke of, but are to small in diameter to do anything.

On factory grills the coarse threaded large philips head screws bit into the plastic and held everything together. Having coarse threads meant no nut, etc was to be used.

You can use "flat nuts" on the backside to thread the screw through and tighten things up. You can find these at an auto parts store or decent hardware store.

I think the holes in the repro grills may be too large for the usual 1/4" screw to bite into the plastic.

Your 100 % correct. The re-pops although they look really nice from Fusick, the holes are too big (.47 diameter) for a 1/4 screw.
Thanks again.

70' Olds 442 Grille ( 3 Screws Bottom)

Hello,
Wanted to let you now the "kit" that came from Inline-Tube are 1/4" sheet metal (3 sheet metal pitch threads) screws......(3 included with grille kit) clips worked well for the rest of the package.
So next to McMaster Carr to chek out, maybe clips or correct phillips head bolts with correct bolt head size that will work with the .47 diameter hole.
The (3) holes provided from Fusick looks like a key way slot (inverted with a .47 hole) diameter........

Thanks again,
DRXOLDS
