71 new trunk denting

I bought a new trunk deck for my 71 Supr Conv from Y-1 and noticed today that I have a couple of dents on the trunk, just above the lock and to the left....oddly, right on the radius where I'd think it would be the strongest.
We're just finishing up this car and it hasn't been on the street or handled by anyone.
I'm curious if it could be just a weak metal issue?
I'm thinking of buying another from someone else...but I don't want to buy from another place to get the same hood issue fro Y-1.

This is just really weird to see these two small dents. I hate to think what it would look like if someone leaned their butt up against it.

Any comments?
Thanks,

From what i've seen the aftermarket body panels are made of thinner gauge metal.

Find a talented PDR person (paintless dent removal) and have them take a shot at it. Plenty of access/leverage holes in the trunklid underside for them to choose from for getting their tools up under the dented area(s).

My bet is there's only one manufacturer of these repro lids.
