68/69 442 Fender Patch Panels?
The Chinesium patch panels are not the same quality as OEM fenders, nor are the contours exactly correct. Also, if the inner brace is rusted, the patch panels won't help for that. Without photos or knowledge of your body guy's skills and costs, it's difficult to make a useful suggestion.
I had the year-one patch panels installed on my front fenders because the remainder of the fenders were in good shape, the rust was below the inner brace, and my car is equipped with fender mouldings that wouldn't be drilled in any of the replacements I've seen listed for sale. Just because you buy a new fender doesn't mean that it won't require bodywork so if the rest of your fender is good, I'd personally lean toward the patch. It doesn't take a seasoned body man long to cut and weld them in. - Steven

Thanks Gents.....I have a guy that wants 750 each for 2 good fenders and I am on the fence.
I see that repros are finally being made and for sale on ebay, but havent been able to find any reviews as of yet.

If you trust your seller that what's under the primer on $750 oem fenders in primer is good than it's probably worth consideration. You can probably get two or three hundred for the ones you have that need repair panels. - Steven

Thanks again for the input.......I may pursue the oem primed fenders. Or maybe buy 1 patch panel and see how it looks after its on and primed. That way I can sandbag the idea if it looks shabby.

Hey:
I would contact 2blu442 ( John) or trublu442 ( Adam) on this site, they are a couple of great guys to deal with on parts and their prices are very reasonable as well. I have bought several from them and my 66 Cutlass would not be as far along as it is now if I had to to pay huge prices for items I needed, you won't be sorry if you work w/ them.
Thanks Ron
