64 Cutlass floor repair

The front portion of the floor is rusted out and will have to be replaced at some time. I am planning on bracing the body with square tube before cutting anything out of the floor. The car was missing the rear end when I bought it and is currently sitting on the front hubs and frame. Do I wait until it is a roller again before installing the bracing to ensure everything stays where it should?
