1971 rear package tray

the portion below the rear window is rusted bad, need replacement or patch. The previouse owner ripped the top off and did not pay any attension to the gap at window when removed. So the quesiton is, can i buy a new one, or will i have to make one.

That part will have to be replaced with a part from a donor vehicle if it's too badly rusted. It's welded in place and there isn't goint to be any repros on that part. Mine was bad so I had to replace mine.

If its not real bad you can try to sandblast it and epoxy prime it but I blasted mine and there was holes in it. I found a nicer one that had some pits in it and I blasted and primed that one before I cut out the old one and welded the new one in

Will have to wait till this weekend to pull glass, if i am lucky. think I will need to start looking for donor because i have a couple of holes that are on the outside where the top was. If they end up being small holes, those i can patch with no problem. crossing fingers

is their a difference between the Cutlass S and the Cutlass Supreme package tray fitment? Reason I ask is because i seen a couple on line that have different type of slots at each end. mine are oval and at an angle, the S model seems to have them straight back.

The Cutlass S is going to be the 442 body style and there package tray area is a lot bigger, not sure about the strip at the very back under the window though.

that would be great ; i am located in Abilene, TX. Dont know what shipping on that would be. Ill am shooting to get back in the shop with weekend. I will try to pull the glass and take the areas down to metal to see the extend of the damage.
