1970 442 tooth number placement
1970 442 tooth number placement
Does anyone have a guide or template information for the correct placement of the 442 numbers on the tooth? Apparently someone fiberglassed over the holes. I think i found the numbers for it in the glovebox. Second question. Does the middle 4 have a special contour to fit the angle of the tooth? If so I have the wrong one.
The backside of the tooth has raised "bosses" cast on to the surface for both the "442" numerals and whatever single emblem mounts on there for a non-442 model. Easy enough to look at the backside to determine which holes to use while comparing the bosses/holes to the CORRECT 442 hood tooth numbers.
And yes, the middle "4" is shaped/contoured to wrap around the vertical centerline/ridge of the tooth.....so you may have the wrong numerals.
Back on the raised bosses on the backside....you should see two outer raised bosses either side of the center emblem bosses.....those two pairs are for the first and last numeral emblems ("4" and "2").
