1967 Cutlass core support mounts
1967 Cutlass core support mounts
I'm working on a friends 67 Cutlass. He bought new bushings for the core support and Im wondering if they are correct. I looked in the CSM and it appears they are supposed to be two rubber pieces that sandwich the core support. Most parts catalogs list the core support bushing as a 64-72 application. It's been awhile since I took off the originals and I had to cut them off. Any help appreciated.

yes you should have two parts, lower mount with a steel insert and a rubber upper cushion. Most that I have seen ship with the cushion pushed on top of the mount so it may look like one piece, can you post a picture?
This looks different from what I remember on 70-72's but these photos are taken of two different 1967 Cutlass/442
The first shows a bolt with a large washer over a rubber doughnut under the hood on top of the core support

Under the core support is a square piece, rubber with a steel sleeve inside.

Then inside the frame is just a large washer with a nut on the bolt. I think on newer cars the rubber doughnut is inside the frame ear.

Here's what the hole in the frame looks like. This is a 1967 Cutlass frame and I know the 70-72 have a much larger hole here.
