1966 Oldsmobile Trunk pan?
1966 Oldsmobile Trunk pan?
Hey Everybody,
I am beginning a restore on my 1966 Delta 88 2dr convertible. of course the one section of the car that needs replacement is the hardest to find. My trunk pan is pretty well rusted out, the rust has eaten trough various locations, Therefore it looks like the whole trunk pan needs to be replaced. I have looked everywhere I can think of for a replacement, no one seems to make one for the Oldsmobile Delta 88, but they do have them for 66 Impalas, Pontiac Bonneville/Starchief, etc. these are also GM B-body cars. My wheel wells look good as well as my quarters. So here I go asking a question I am sure you heard before:
Which of these trunk pans will work in my Delta 88?
If you are sick of this question, I am sorry, its either this, or I need a crash course in metal working.

Even though you'd think all same-platform cars would be the same, there are often subtle differences between the Divisions. You may be able to adapt one from the Chevy or Pontiac, but short of that, it's gonna be used southwestern sheetmetal or fab one from sheet steel.
I have noticed that, the divisions are different, wheel base may be a little different, etc. This particular car came with a rubber mat in the trunk, not a carpet, my brother keeps pushing for sheet metal patches, then cover it with carpet. That is not the job I want to do. I want to lay down a solid trunk pan, and re-use the mat.
I have not used these folks, but you might check them out and see if they can help. I cannot vouch for the quality, but it is in my list and I typically don't add known bad vendors.
