1964 Cutlass rear wheel wells

Ok guys, I finally got some wheel well moldings for my 64 2 door Cutlass and noticed something very interesting - the rear moldings did not match up with my wheel wells at all. Then I started to research 64 A bodies and saw that my rear wells are completely different than any 64 Cutlass, Skylark, Chevelle etc.

Please take a moment to look at the rear driver's wheel well and offer any input that you can as it would be extremely helpful!

Thomas

Since there are no patch panels available for the 1964 rear quarters, it appears that someone used Nova patch panels on your car. I bet Nova wheel well moldings fit just fine.

Thanks Joe! Although I am a die hard stock guy, and am about to speak blasphemy on this site, I kinda like the look of it. It gives it a tad more of an aggressive look rather than the long sweep out to the bottom of factory. Now, to search for Nova trim.

Keep in mind that I'm just guessing that those are Nova wheel openings.

The front and tops look correct for an Olds but rearward they are not pretty. They seem to bend way in. I dont think you would find any moldings to fit like they should as it looks like a funky marriage to me.

Funny, my first look at this and I said "That looks like a Nova'

64 Lemans

Was at a great car show this weekend in Orlando and stumbled across a 1964 LeMans...I believe I have my donor lower quarter here - again, always open for commentary.

That is a '64-'65 Tempest/LeMans/GTO rear 1/4 patch (on your car). They even left the two horizontal belt lines that on factory Pontiac A-bodies run the entire length of the car. LeMans/GTO trim will fit if the entire wheel well edge is also the Pontiac part, but may not fit well if the patch is only the rear half.
